Webcom Consulting

Webcom Consulting a major shareholder in Tasima, and provides and maintains the hardware requirements for the eNatis system. On top of this, Webcom Consulting manages nine SMME’s nationwide, one in each province, that run the call centres for eNatis users. The company also offers specialised solutions like asset management.

The SMMEs were appointed by Webcom in each province to deal with service calls logged at the eNatis call centre. In order to assist these businesses to become sustainable and successful, Webcom provides support from an enterprise development perspective to each of the organisations.

By providing these small businesses with a sustainable market, Webcom has enabled them to survive the lean years of South Africa's economy.  Webcom also places emphasis on the early settlement of invoices submitted by the SMME's, to ensure that they do not experience the cash flow problems that can cripple many small businesses. By aiding the nine enterprises across the country, Webcom Consulting and The Webcom Group are giving these local businesses the empowerment they need to become sustainable businesses and contribute towards creating a stable South African economy.

Each of the nine small businesses is responsible for handling all deployment services to customers as well as end-to-end on site deployment and sign-off. The businesses have also been involved with a project to assist in upgrading the electrical infrastructure in the provinces to cater for the Live Capturing Unit (LCU) scanner project, as well supporting the network infrastructure and maintenance services for Thuthukani.

The SMMEs are:

•    Tekanyo IT Services: Polokwane
•    Imvusa Trading: Milnerton, Western Cape
•    ICT Choice: East London, Eastern Cape
•    Amava IT: Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
•    Basizi Consulting: Westville, Kwa-Zulu Natal

•    Computers Direct: Kimberley, Northern Cape
•    Ikamva Multimedia: Bloemfontein, Free State
•    KTKX Cabling Technologies: Polokwane, Limpopo

As a result of this initiative Webcom is able to maximise its contribution to the Preferential Procurement element of the BEE scorecard by not only supporting the SMME's development, but also by purchasing from the beneficiaries of their Enterprise Development initiatives.
